Sarah

Sarah, Assistant Manager, Product Planning

Sarah's Pick—An Arboretum Picnic

“The National Arboretum is an oasis of nature in the middle of the city and the perfect spot to escape the crowds on the mall or the excitement of H Street. Take your time walking the 3 mile loop to try and spot all of the state trees (or rent a Capital Bikeshare bike right outside of the gate!) and bring a picnic basket - there’s plenty of wide open space to spread a blanket and bask in the sunshine.”

Dorothy

Dorothy, Assistant Manager, Custom & Volume

Dorothy's Pick—Georgetown By Bike

“The Capital Crescent Trail is perfect for a day outdoors! The trail begins in Silver Spring and takes you on a scenic trail to Georgetown. If you don’t have a bike, no worries—Griffin Cycle in Bethesda has hourly rentals, and you can begin the trail there. Once in Georgetown, lock your bike at Big Wheel Bikes and walk over to Blue Bottle for a nice cup of iced coffee.”

Courtney

Courtney, Community & Customer Relations Coordinator

Courtney's Pick—A Parisian Stroll

“If you’re looking for an adorable (and underground) one-stop-shop for a delish latte and place to curate a picturesque picnic basket, Wine & Butter is your place. I usually get an Iced Vanilla Matcha and a baguette, then head right across the street to take a stroll around Lincoln Park or sit under the trees to enjoy.”

Sarah

Suann, Founder + CEO

Suann's Pick—Something For Kids & Parents Alike

"We are big fans of The Lane Social Club. Our 4-year-old loves the Lane but as a mom, I love it too. It’s locally-owned and as a bonus, it’s just a few doors down from Appointed in Ivy City. There are a variety of well-thought-out and beautifully-designed activities for children that will keep them occupied for hours. It’s been such a wonderful place for us to gather, especially safely during the pandemic, for birthday parties and playdates. We also appreciate there’s a coffee bar and cafe for parents."

Jackie

Jackie, Sr. Manager, Direct-to-Consumer

Jackie's Pick—The Perfect All-Day Cafe

Ellē in Mount Pleasant is my absolute favorite spot in D.C. for a relaxing afternoon coffee break. It’s an all-day café, bakery, restaurant, and bar—featuring a vegetarian-friendly menu and inventive cocktails. Don’t leave without trying the sourdough toast, it’s the best!”

Kaitlin

Kaitlin, Assistant Manager, E-commerce Marketing

Kaitlin's Pick—Explore Ivy City

“I have to recommend our local Appointed neighborhood of Ivy City for the perfect sunny Saturday. Start with a late breakfast and coffee at Bakers Daughter, swing by the Appointed District Shop for a custom notebook at the notebook bar or to pick up that last minute gift, and finish the afternoon sipping IPAs on the rooftop of local brewery Other Half (the Appointed team's preferred happy-hour spot). ”
